AMS was awarded the Barkley Dam Site Water and Compressed Air Lines Replacement project for the US Nashville US Army Corps of Engineers. This project takes place at the Barkley Dam site near Grand Rivers, Kentucky. Work consists of removing the existing vertical section of steel 3” potable water pipe and steel 2” compressed air pipe in the powerhouse hoistway and replacing it with 3” HDPE DR 9 pipe and 2” galvanized steel welded pipe. This vertical run is approximately 120 feet. AMS will also replace fourteen vertical hangers.
