Big Bend Dam Turbine Rehab

AMS Industrial Services Company personnel provided equipment, material, and labor required for installing and pressure testing thrust bearing coolers and copper piping on two units.  Turbine shaft sleeves on two units were removed and replaced with government furnished spare ones which were machined to fit the corroded shafts for Units #1 and #7.  Finish machining was done on the outer diameter of the last of three government furnished turbine shaft sleeves. New high lift pump systems were installed on each of the eight 61 MW units. Thrust bearing coolers and piping were installed on two of the units, and installation of two new turbine shaft sleeves.
